PressConf 2025: An Exclusive Event To Unite The WordPress Community

PressConf 2025, a new gathering for the WordPress community, will debut in Tempe, Arizona, from April 23-26, 2025. Hosted at the Tempe Mission Palms Resort, the conference aims to bring together professionals who play a significant role in shaping the WordPress ecosystem.

This event will provide a unique platform for insightful discussions, networking, and driving collaborations that will drive the future of the platform.

Reviving The Legacy of PressNomics

Described as the “spiritual successor of PressNomics,” the upcoming event is rekindling the essence of its predecessor.

PressNomics was started by Pagely founders Joshua and Sally Strebel as an ideal, community-driven platform for businesses to learn and grow together. With its six successful events, it became one of the best WordPress networking conferences and had its final run in September 2019 before GoDaddy acquired Pagely.

More than six years after the last PressNomics, Raquel Manriquez borrowed its core values to fill the gap it has left behind through PressConf 2025. Manriquez, however, is not new to such events. She is a veteran WordCamp Phoenix organizer and has also assisted Sally in organizing PressNomics in 2013.

Using that experience, she is set to bring back the same energy while adapting to the evolving needs of the WordPress community.

Why Should You Attend PressConf 2025?

There has always been a lack of dedicated WordPress events to cater to business needs. While WordCamp has been serving the community, it is meant for a broader spectrum of WordPress users.

PressConf 2025, on the other hand, is capped with an attendee limit of just 300. It is an intimate event to network with business leaders who want to revolutionize their businesses using WordPress.

Manriquez and her team have gone to great lengths to create “a room where it happens” experience for all the attendees. Therefore, the event will follow a single-track itinerary with one event at a time so the attendees don’t miss out on anything.

Another important highlight of the event is the strict no-recording rule. As their website quotes, “Connections Are The Conference,” you will have to be physically present for every session.

Raquael also added, “It will be a space for inspiring storytelling from CEOs and agency owners. We want people to be vulnerable. We want feather-ruffling. We want people to get uncomfortable because sometimes you need to hear raw truths to get results.”

Key Dates and Agenda To Note

PresConf is a four-day-long event with a structured agenda and unique opportunity for each day.

April 23rd:  The first day marks the opening of the conference with a welcome reception and an opportunity to settle in and network with others.

April 24th and 25th: The next two days will feature talks, sessions, and panel discussions with industry leaders, along with breaks for light networking opportunities.

April 26: The last day of the event is an exclusive retreat reserved only for those with VIP passes. It will include golf and other outdoor activities that you can use as a networking opportunity or, in Menriquez’s words, “go on networking playdates.”

Where To Stay?

Attendees can take advantage of special booking rates at Tempe Mission Palms for their stay during the conference. This 4-star Hyatt Resort is a familiar venue for PressNomics alumni and will be the main accommodation for most attendees until it’s fully booked.

Located in the heart of Downtown Tempe, it’s a secluded sanctuary just steps away from hiking trails, Tempe Town Lake, multiple dining options, and the exquisite Tempe nightlife. The booking starts at $239 per night with special discounted rates for PressConf attendees.

The Speaker Lineup

Although the full list of speakers is yet to be announced, the organizing team has hinted at a panel that will address the strategic, operational, and cultural aspects of a WordPress-centric business. It will be a diverse mix of new and seasoned speakers who will bypass the technical tutorials and focus on sharing and solving real problems.

Who is PressConf For?

The event is designed for individuals who are deeply engaged with the business side of the WordPress ecosystem. It is open to business leaders, product developers, and all other creators of the community who contribute to it with their creations and services. As long as someone is open to sharing and learning with a close-knit community, the event is suitable for them.

As quoted on their website, “PressConf is for the engineers, entrepreneurs, artists, creators and leaders of Modern WordPress to level up no matter where they’re starting from or where they’ve been.”

Importance of PressConf for the WordPress Ecosystem

During its course, PressNomic set a high standard for business-centric WordPress conferences, and the gap was evident after its conclusion.

Many business leaders are dealing with competition from other proprietary platforms and the evolving role of open-source in a commercial context. Rapid technological advancements, shifting market demands, and other operational challenges call for a community that could address these issues from a business perspective.

While Manriquez wanted Pagely founders to restart PressNomics, they encouraged her to create an event that resonated with the community’s present needs. She went on to identify their pain points and decided to launch PressConf to address these issues with her own fresh spin on the event.

The new conference fills that void by creating room for raw truth, vulnerable business discussions, and the potential to explore practical solutions.

PressConf Beyond the USA

Depending on the success of PressConf 25, Raquael Manriquez may consider making it an annual event and explore its possibilities outside the USA. Addressing the growing demand for such events on a global level, she noted, “I’m open to planning a European business event for WordPress.”

How to Participate?

The PressConf has two different admission plans, and you can pick one based on your choice:

  • The general admission costs $680 and includes all the core sessions, the two after-parties, drinks, refreshments, and breakfast for two days.
  • The VIP access is charged at $780 and includes everything in the general admission in addition to the PressConf Retreat on April 26th.

Due to limited capacity, it is advisable to get the tickets in advance. Visit the official PressConf website to find more information on their tickets and bookings.

A Silver of Hope For the WordPress Community

With its dedicated sessions, emphasis on networking, and unfiltered conversations, PressConf 2025 is an important event to look forward to. Depending on its success, it could set a benchmark, inspiring more local and global events focused on the needs of WordPress businesses.
